About Hoop the Flow

Updated on

Hoop the Flow is an independent buying-guide site about under-sink water filters and reverse osmosis systems for the home kitchen.

We write for homeowners who want a filtered tap at the sink without guesswork. Our aim is to help you pick a system that fits your cabinet, your plumbing and the upkeep you're willing to do.

What we cover

Our guides cover reverse osmosis systems with a tank, tankless RO units and plain under-sink filters. The brands include iSpring, APEC, Waterdrop, CuZn, Express Water, Frizzlife and Aquasana.

We also explain the parts that trip people up. That means stages, daily output in gallons, drain lines, tank pressure, filter and membrane changes, and what a system costs to keep running.

How we work

We read the specs, the install manuals and each maker's own information for the systems we cover. We also look at what owners often report after months of use.

Then we turn that into plain guides, side-by-side comparisons and clear picks. Our How we research page explains each step.

What we are not

We don't make or sell water filters, and no brand pays us to rank its products. Hoop the Flow isn't affiliated with iSpring, APEC, Waterdrop or any other maker.

We don't claim to have installed or tested every system in a kitchen of our own. When we pick something, we say why, based on its specs, its features and owner feedback.

We don't make claims about health or about what is in your water. For that, a water test and your local water report are the place to start.

How the site is paid for

Some links here go to stores like Amazon. If you buy through one, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.

That never decides which systems we pick. Our affiliate disclosure has the details.
